Buell | March 21, 2011Buell Bikes are an American manufacturer of motor cycles. They were founded by the former engineer of Harley Davidson, Erik Buell. While the company had initially partnered with the Harley Davidson Co. in the year 1993, by the year 2003, they became a subsidiary of Harley Davidson. By the year 2009, however Harley Davidson announced the discontinuation of Buell Bikes, and by November of the same year period, an independent Erik Buell Racing Co., was launched which only produced the 1125R model’s race versions.
The Buell 1125R is a sport bike model from Buell. It was first introduced in the year 2007 as a 2008 year model. By 2009, it was announced that only the race versions of this model would be produced. This bike is powered by a Helicon 1,125 cc V-twin engine which is produced by the Austrian BRP-Powertrain. The Buell 1125R has many unique attributes of design. The frame design which is patented houses the fuel for the bike.

The single front brake is an eight piston, called the ZTL2. It features an inverted 14.8 inches or 375 mm which is attached directly to the front rim of the bike. The front end design of this bike is more light and responsive compared to traditional designs. The Buell 1125R also has an exhaust located under the engine to provide a higher volume.
The Buell Lightning is one of the popular series produced by the bike. This bike offers comfortable passenger seat and riding position. The seat is wider and taller and with a wheelbase of 54 inches, it offers the rider of the bike a better and comfortable riding position. The Buell Lightning is meant to be a performance bike having a V-twin engine.
