The 2011 model of the Triumph Daytona 675R just heated up the competition among middleweight sport motorcycles. This bike is powered by the Triple 675 engine. While it features the same basic appearance and chassis dimensions as its original version, however it does boast of some notable upgrades.

This Triumph Bike is equipped with Brembo 4 piston, monoblock caliphers, master cylinder from Brembo as well as the quick shifter. One of the major weaknesses of this otherwise great motorcycle was its suspension, which has been addressed with the use of the Ohlins suspension.

The pre-load, rebound and damping adjusters are located above the fork, which alleviate the need for crawling below the fork for making any adjustments. This bike also uses the Ohlins fully adjustable shock TTX36, developed in conjunction with MotoGP over some years, which provides the greatest in racing technology. You can also make any adjustments needed on the shock side, however this won’t be necessary as the original set-up provided is quite perfect.

The front brakes of the new 2011 model of this bike have also been upgraded, receiving the Brembo radial mounted monoblock caliphers. The 308mm rotors however, have been carried over from the original base model, along with the braided steel lines. Apart from the Brembo and Ohlins hardware, the new Daytona 675R also boasts of the first ever factory enabled electronic quick shift.

The gearbox of the Daytona 675R has been slightly revised, including roller, instead of the plain bearings. The first gear and the second gear are also located closer to each other. This bike is available in a single Crystal White color option. The sub frame of the bike is a powder coated red with matching red pin striped wheels, all of which add to its racer bike appeal. For a more racy appearance, the belly pan features a black color, while both the generator and clutch covers have been restyled.

Some of the aesthetic changes to the bike include a front fender of carbon fiber, a heat shied which wraps around the silencer as well as a rear hugger. The new 2011 Triumph Daytona 675R is their premier sport bike. This bike is well geared for a successful future on the track.

2011 Triumph Daytona 675R is definitely a racier version of these series. This model has a lot of great features to offer. Weighing in at 407 pounds, this bike is quite light, making it easy to ride, while the price tag of $11,999 will also help it against its competitors.

The North American division of Ducati bikes recently announced their sales figures for the first quarter of this year. The Italian bike manufacturer has claimed an increase in sales of almost 68 per cent in the first quarter in comparision to that of last year. The recent figures continue the trend witnessed by the brand in the last two quarters for 2010, even though the annual overall sales of 2010 were in the negative.

Ducati, meanwhile continues to remain bullish regarding the future sales for the entire year, with their newest Monster and Diavel 1100EVO currently making it to the retail market. Ducati’s North American division has proudly announced their consecutive third quarter sales in motorcycles by beginning this year a rise of 68 per cent in motorcycle sales figures.

A strong beginning this year will continue Ducati’s trend of consecutive growth over three quarters in the most significant foreign market of this Italian manufacturer. The positive growth in sales figures encompasses the entire lineup of Ducati’s 2011 offerings. This is a great achievement for the brand, meaning the growth in sales figures is driven by each of their bike models.

The CEO for the North American division of Ducati, Cristiano Silei, said that they have had a great beginning this year. They also expect this growth to continue positively through out the year, especially with their newest and most sought after product, Diavel, hitting the dealer showrooms in late March.

The fantastic first quarter results are in line with the sales plans set by Ducati for 2011. the sales in the coming month will too be fueled because of the new Multistrada 1200 Special Edition Peak Pikes and the new Monster 1100EVO, supported by many other key activities. Ducati has also gone ahead and named April as the ”Diavel Ride Month”. This month will be dedicated to motorcycle enthusiasts who will be given the opportunity of experiencing the Diavel firsthand via test-ride dealer experiences.

June will also be Ducati’s return at the International Pikes Peak Hillclimb wherein the Multistrada will be competing in a race for overall victory. More boosting marketing programs by the company will soon be announced. These marketing programs will surround riding experiences for the Multistrada and Diavel models. These marketing programs will also revolve around the launch of the Monster 1100EVO in their North American market.

Ducati is meanwhile getting ready for the response to their heavily anticipated Diavel and Monster in worldwide showrooms.

The newest version of the BMW F800R is a demi-sport price point bike. Though this bike has reportedly received inputs from bike stunt stalwart, Christian Pfeiffer, this bike is still sturdy and capable enough as a citizen bike as compared to a stunt bike.

This BMW F800R has a snazzy white, red and blue livery. The new 2011 model of this bike has a minimalist style. It is powered by a parallel twin 798cc engine which was first seen in the 2006 model of BMW Bikes, which sits in the aluminum twin-spar frame of the bike. It allegedly delivers a horsepower of 87 at 8000 rpm which is 2bhp more than what the F800GS bike delivered at 7500 rpm.

This bike also features twin pistons of 82 mm and a counterweight that is lever and hinge controlled to help neutralize vibrations. The throttle bodies of 46mm are fed by variable pressure proprietary fuel pumps which help to increase the bikes fuel economy. As the 4.2 gallons of fuel is housed in a plastic tank located under the seat, there is plenty of space for an intake snorkel and an airbox between frame rails.

What makes this bike even more ergonomic to shorter folks is its seat height of 31.5 inches; however this can be a problem for those who are not vertically challenged. Depending on your height, it is advisable to choose between BMW’s seat offerings. Meanwhile, the aluminum handlebar of this bike is nicely angled which helps to enforce a forward comfortable sporty lean, however the high foot pegs will be in favor cornering clearance compared to legroom.

According to BMW, the bike is capable of generating a torque of 63 pounds feet at 6000 rpm. This bike is offered with a six speed gear box. Not only is the steering of this bile relatively light, it is also quite stable. The bike’s Showa suspension also performs a respectable job. The Brembo calipers and 320mm rotors give it a serious linear stopping power that is fade free. The basic BMW F800R is priced at $9950.

Some of the other features included in this bikes premium package include heated grips, ABS, a monitor for the tire pressure, a sport windshield, an alarm as well as an electric socket for any added bike accessory for an added price. While this bike is certainly pricier than many other notable bikes like the Kawasaki, for example, it is also priced almost $3,500 less when compared to a similarly equipped R1200R bike, which makes it a bargain considering its BMW.

In the biking world, the line-up of GSX-R bikes from Suzuki are known for their performance. These series of bikes are being produced since the year 1985 and have more than 360,000 bikes sold, which make it one of the popular brands in sport bikes.

This line-up of Suzuki Bikes has a new model out for this year which is named the Suzuki GSX-R600. This bike has been designed so as to improve the performance facets of the bike. This 2011 model is a street bike and has made use of a new chassis body. It also includes updated ergonomics, engine and styling.

The new chassis of this bike is shorter and has a reduced wheel base which is less by 15mm. To make up for this, the engine of the bike has been tilted by three degrees. The swingarm and the frame are still made using aluminum, however with a new process of manufacturing which allows them to be lighter and not compromise on the structural rigidity. The suspension of this bike is a Big-Piston Fork (BPF) by Showa, which replaces the traditional cartridge type fork.

The BPF also allows for a better control of the pitch when braking as well as improved feel during cornering. There is also a Showa gas charges shock absorber which is slightly small in length but still delivers an increase during suspension travel. Both of the suspension components offer an adjustment of rebound damping, compression as well as spring preload.

The Suzuki GSX-R600 also boasts of new wheels which have new axles, bearings as well as hubs. The size of the wheels remains same, as does the BT-016 Bridgestone Battlax tires. The set up of the new wheel isn’t compatible with that of the earlier GSX-R bike models which include the 1000 recently redesigned model. This will make it difficult for racers of Suzuki sport bikes.

Suzuki is Japan’s first OE to source the front brake top shelf monobloc calipers of Brembo on a sport bike production. Each of the calipers has been machined from solid aluminum police and feature four pistons of 32mm compared to the older bikes 32/30 set up. The calipers also manage to squeeze brake discs of larger diameters. The rear brake is similar to that of the 1000 Gixxer and controls the slightly lighter and smaller diameter disc.

Both the brakes are still controlled hydraulically via brake lines of rubber without any linked braking or ABS function. The bike’s ergonomics have also been modified. The fuel tank shape has now been tailor made as well as that of the handle bar which is moved outwards by one degree. The height of the seat remains unchanged and is the lowest at 31.9 inches available. The bore stroke engine of this Suzuki bike is new and improved and revs faster.
